Enrol at Queen's

It would be a pleasure to welcome you and your daughter to Queen's High School!

Enrolment Scheme Information

Due to unprecedented roll growth over the last 2 years, the Principal, the Board and the Ministry of Education have adopted an enrolment scheme effective from 1 January 2026, approved by the Secretary of Education. This means enrolment can only be guaranteed for a certain geographical zone, called the “Home Zone”.

Under this scheme students will be guaranteed enrolment if they live within the “Home Zone”.

Additional Entitlement to Enrol

For whānau of students presently enrolled at Queen's High School, should their residential address subsequently fall outside the school's newly established home zone, siblings remain entitled to enrol. Such enrolments will be classified as in-zone, provided that their sibling is actively enrolled at the school on the date the new student commences attendance.

Queens High Enrolment Scheme Home Zone

For families residing outside this designated area, we wish to advise that a number of out-of-zone places will be available. All enrolment applications are welcome, and those from out-of-zone will be processed in accordance with the Education and Training Act 2020.

If you are unsure of our zone boundaries please see the detailed street information included in the home zone list

Applications for out of zone enrolments are accepted if capacity allows in each of the year levels

Applications for enrolments from out of zone will be processed in the following order of priority:

First Priority - This priority is not applicable at this school because the school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary
of Education.

Second Priority - will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.

Third Priority - will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.

Fourth Priority - will be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school.

Fifth Priority - will be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the board of the school or a child of a member of the board of the school.

Sixth Priority - will be given to all other applicants.

Ballots (if required) will be held within 3 days after the pre-enrolment period closes on Friday 22 August. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within 3 school days of the ballot being held.

If you wish to participate in the pre-enrolment process, you need to have submitted your application by the deadline.
