Uaine Tavae Samoan Speech Competition

Uaine Tavae

Last week Year 10 student Uaine Tavae flew to Auckland to deliver her speech during the annual Samoan Speech competition organised by Fa’alapotopotoga mo le A'oa'oina o le Gagana Samoa i Aotearoa (FAGASA).

In her speech, which was presented in Samoan, Uaine explained the reasons why protecting the environment and safeguarding the future is so important to her. Uaine came first overall. Well done Uaine; we are proud of you!

A word from Uaine “ I presented at the National Samoan Speech Competition in Auckland. It was a good opportunity for me to practice public speaking and to get first place overall! I am now able to attend a university summer camp this coming holidays. I would like to thank my school for supporting me. Special thank you to Afamasaga Pahivi for the support. Finally I would like to thank my dad and my siblings and my whole family for coming and supporting me in Auckland.”
